About me

I'm a materials scientist/chemist. In January, 2006, I moved from Melbourne, Australia, to Bristol, United Kingdom. I am working at the University of Bristol, as is my husband, Stuart Prescott.

However, there are lots of other things that I enjoy doing.

Band at Myer Music Bowl

While I was living in Melbourne, I played clarinet with Boroondara Symphonic Band. I played with this band for about six years and a highlight was playing as the "warm-up band" for the Melbourne Synphony Orchestra at the Myer Music Bowl in February, 2005. I'm now playing with Hotwells Music Workshop in Bristol and loving it!

I have also been involved with the Young Scientists of Australia, an organisation of young people who are interested in science and are working to promote science to the youth of Australia.

Wedding

I was married on the 16th of December, 2002, in the chapel of Ormond College at the University of Melbourne. We had a lovely day of celebrations with our families and friends. Since then, Stuart and I have enjoyed many trips overseas and around Australia, and we have particularly enjoyed wine tasting and hiking together.
